ProKick Protein Drink: Unveil our new Beverage Canning Line

We were thrilled to unveil our new state-of-the-art Beverage Canning Line at our Tennyson production facility in Brisbane on the 20th of September 2023.

The unveiling of the canning line coincides with the launch of our latest pioneering nutrition product, ProKick Protein Drink, “a little can of can do”, that packs 20g of protein into a mini 150mL serve.

We were joined by the Honourable Shannon Fentimen, Queensland Minister For Health to cut the ribbon with our founder and CEO, Bernadette Erikson.

The introduction of the new Beverage Canning Line is a $5 million investment, 5-years in the making, which is set to see us more than double our daily production capabilities.

Our ProKick Protein Drink also signifies our official entry into the functional beverage category for everyday wellbeing, exemplifying our expertise in creating advanced solutions for a broad range of nutritional needs.

We’re also proud that our new beverage canning line delivers a new standard of environmental efficiency and reaffirms our commitment to sustainability. By choosing an aluminium canning line over a plastic bottling line, it is estimated that, based on projected sales, we will eliminate 271,700 tonnes of environmental waste.

In keeping with the Sustainable Packaging Principles outlined by APCO, and our commitment to recyclable packaging, ProKick Protein Drink cans are made from 70% recycled material and are suitable for kerbside collection or a rebate through the popular Containers for Change program.

Beyond up scaled and more environmentally friendly production, the Beverage Canning Line is a demonstration of our ongoing contribution to the Brisbane community, with the expectation that it will create new jobs across our employee network as well as co-manufacturing opportunities with other beverage brands.

Our CEO, Bernadette Eriksen says, “We are all very proud to call Brisbane home and to know we are contributing not only to people’s health, but also to our local community. Brisbane is a part of who we are.”

Other notable attendees at our official launch event included, Federal Member for Moreton, Graham Perrett MP as well as Tony Burnett, Director of Food and Agribusiness, Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), Anthony Ryan CEO Brisbane Economic Development Agency, and leading voices in nutrition in Queensland, Dr Liz Isenring, Adjunct Professor, Bond University and CEO of LINC Nutrition and Professor Elizabeth Ward for Functioning and Health research at UQ.
